Check Your Domain Name
First, if you don't already have a domain name registered, it is time to do so. You can also create email addresses with this domain rather than using a generic email such as @yahoo, @hotmail, or @gmail. There are many different registrars out there to register your site's domain with. I use godaddy.com, myself. You can check your domain, with them, here. |
Information You'll Need
Now that you have your domain, we need to determine what you need your site to do and what to set up with the site.
Do you need help with setting up an email and contact page?
Do you have a logo for your site?
Do you have a color scheme in mind?
Do you have any idea how you want your site layout to look?
Is there another site you have seen that is similar to your vision for your own site?
Have you given thought to what information you want on your site?
Are you considering writing the written material for the site yourself or would you need help with this?
Do you have images for your site? Or an idea for images to use?
Would you want to or need to have a photographer take pictures?
We can help out with any of this. We can help with your logo, help find images for your site, layout, colors to match your business, writing, photography, and anything else you might need. If there is something I don't do myself, I use my partners from Creative Associates.
The Design
At this point I will be able to work you up a design we can work with and perfect from there. Through the process, there might be small changes you want here and there. Your site should be customized to fit exactly what you're looking for. If there are any small details you want changed, now is the time for it. You can finally see your site in front of you and figure out what can make it better. As soon as your site is up to your expectations, we're ready to go!!!
Publish!
Now it is finally time. Your site is ready to go! Last thing we need is to know whether you are going to control your own hosting account or host your site on my server. Neither will affect the site's appearance or operation. Some people simply prefer to have more control over their site. Red Minute uses JustHost for our sites. If you choose to purchase your own personal hosting, I will just need you to set up an FTP account for me to upload the site. If you do prefer to use my hosting to make things more simple, I will provide you with all the files for your site. I want to make sure you have the ease of mind, knowing the site is YOURS and the control is held by you and only you.
Payments
Well the time has come to figure out payment. Don't worry, there will never be any surprises. All costs will be discussed up front before the site is worked on. Registering a domain runs somewhere in the ballpark of $10 per year. Hosting can vary. If you use my server, I will charge a simple $25 per year which saves you more than half off what you would typically pay. If your site will need updates from time to time, I will not charge you anything for hosting. This fee just helps pay for server costs to keep your site up. And you even get a major discount! You can pay with:

CASH¹ (local only)
PAYPAL²
REMEMBER: If you are unable to pay for your site in full, all up front, don't let this stop you from getting started. We can work together to make sure you can get on the web.
