My father’s site was the first site I built completely, from the ground up. I worked with him to reconstruct his site, to make a simplistic, yet creative site to promote his book. I already knew most of the basics of HTML coding and picked up the rest very quickly. I then learned how to use CSS to manipulate the style across the website. I am completely self taught and have used the limitless resources in books and online. If there is anything I was not completely proficient in, I would read up on it and figure out how I can best use the coding and methods for future website clients.
Here are a few technical details about what I use to build my websites. I have studied and learned HTML, CSS, enough PHP to include it in this list, Javascript and Jquery, some MySQL (database), and of course SEO (search engine optimization) skills. I can design sites using a CMS (content management system) such as Wordpress, Joomla, and Drupal as well as make an e-commerce site for your online store. I use the Adobe Creative Suite (CS4) products as my web design and programming software. This includes Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, etc. I run a Windows PC loaded with Windows 7 64-bit.
